Cardiology ST4 is one of the more competitive higher specialties year on year. In 2023, there were more than 3 applicants for each Cardiology post.
You’ve covered the requirements in the person specification, and next up, it’s the interview. The format has changed for 2024. Previously, there was one clinical scenario. However, for 2024, there will now be two clinical scenarios.
Effective preparation focuses on two areas: Knowledge and Delivery.
The Cardiology ST4 interview is knowledge-intensive. If you don’t have the knowledge, it doesn’t matter how slick your delivery is, you won’t get the marks.
Equally, you might have consultant level knowledge, but if you don’t deliver it well, all those hours preparing will be for nothing!
This is your opportunity to demonstrate why you would make a good Cardiology trainee.
This is where we come in…
We are proud to have developed over 45 carefully crafted scenarios that mirror the interview, to help you prepare and maximise your chances of scoring your dream job. We’ve been doing this for a while now and know how important it is for the question bank to be up-to-date. Each year, our high-scoring editors make changes to the question bank to ensure it reflects the most recent interviews. Our team has secured some of the most competitive training jobs in previous rounds, and we want to help you do the same!
Best of all, we’ve presented it in an easy to understand format, on a platform that you can access anywhere.
The 2024 interview is broken down into five questions across two stations and we have presented our questions exactly like they appear in the interview. Each question will be 5-13 minutes, and the complete interview will last approximately 50-55 minutes.
In this question, the interviewers are exploring your commitment to higher cardiology training, and you can expand on all of the information you have provided in your application form. We provide example questions and answers, with tips on how to approach these.
Focusing on two aspects of being a medical registrar, we provide example answers to help you construct your own.
Many candidates underestimate this station and instead focus on the clinical part of the interview. However, this station is just as important and it’s easy to drop marks here. We have written numerous scenarios and model answers to give you the knowledge and structure to score highly.
This year, there are two clinical scenarios. You will be asked similar questions for each, with the first scenario lasting longer than the second. We provide detailed scenarios and model answers, to help you get maximum points in this question.
When we were preparing for our specialty interviews, getting accurate and helpful advice felt near impossible. The recruitment websites only provide you with so much information, and whilst asking those who have done the interview is useful, sometimes all it did was make us more nervous, instead of actually helping us to prepare.
Since then, we have been filtering through all the good and bad resources, so you don’t have to, and our high-scoring core trainees have put it all together in one place, the Medibuddy Online Cardiology ST4 Training Interview Question Bank.
