An infant of 6 weeks is brought to A&E by his mother
An infant of 6 weeks is brought to A&E by his mother. The mother is concerned as her son has not been keeping any feeds down for the last 2 days. She says her son had been feeding well exclusively from her breast up until 2 days ago when he began to vomit small amounts of milk. She adds that despite his vomiting, he still has an appetite. However, today he has been vomiting a large proportion of the feed and his mother was particularly concerned by the force with which the vomit was brought up earlier today, stating it “erupted from his mouth”. Her son has had fewer wet nappies than usual and has been sleeping more.
