A 29-year-old woman is referred to a specialist endocrinologist due to a large goitre

A 29-year-old woman is referred to a specialist endocrinologist due to a large goitre. She has been experiencing symptoms such as palpitations, increased appetite, weight loss, and a tremor. Her ultrasound scan showed toxic multinodular goitre. She had tried Carbimazole for a few weeks, but did not tolerate its side effects and does not wish to try any other thionamides. She is also actively trying to conceive and does not want any medication or treatment to interfere with her plans.
