A 22-year-old man presents to A&E with a fever, severe headache, and neck stiffness

A 22-year-old man presents to A&E with a fever, severe headache, and neck stiffness, which began suddenly around an hour ago. He appears slightly drowsy, with a GCS of 14/15. When he was 10 years old, he was admitted to hospital for a severe reaction to a penicillin antibiotic, but otherwise has no past medical history. He is able to tell you that he had medications through a drip and required oxygen for this reaction.
