A 23-year-old woman comes to see you in the dermatology clinic. She has been urgently triaged by her GP as she has a widespread skin rash. She previously had coryzal symptoms and what is described as a herald patch in the GP letter.

She has been using emollients and hydrocortisone creams to try and reduce the appearance of the rash, which looks consistent with pityriasis rosea. However, she is very concerned as she has an important family wedding in 10 days and is very self-conscious about the appearance of the rash. She is keen to know if there is any treatment that can help reduce the duration of symptoms and help with faster resolution of the rash.

Which of the following is most likely to reduce the appearance of the rash?
