A 14-year-old male patient has been referred to the dermatology clinic. He is noted to have a large purple lesion (which appears stain-like) on the left side of his face. He says this lesion has been present since birth and has not responded well to treatments he has trialled. He has a past medical history of seizures but is otherwise fit and well. He is curious to find out more about the lesion on his face. He understands that it is part of an inherited medical condition and has read online that he can develop complications that can affect the eye.
Given his symptoms and likely underlying diagnosis, what ocular complication is he at risk of developing?
