A 30-year-old Caucasian woman presents with new skin lesions on her hands
A 30-year-old Caucasian woman presents with new skin lesions on her hands (see image below). Her mother had breast cancer and multiple gastrointestinal polyps. Her sister recently had a skin melanoma excised at the age of 24 and was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. On physical examination, the patient is noted to have a high arched palate. Given the history above, you suspect Cowden’s syndrome.
