A 54-year-old man, who has emigrated from Taiwan, presents with a 4-month history of unintentional weight loss, jaundice, bloating, loss of appetite, and a “feeling of fullness” in the right upper quadrant. His only past medical history of note is diet-controlled type 2 diabetes. An ultrasound scan of the gallbladder shows a mass suspicious of cholangiocarcinoma. Stool microscopy reveals a large number of parasitic eggs.
