A 47-year-old man complains of a tremor for the past 9 months. He reports head nodding and intention tremor, which is affecting his work as an electrician. He believes his father had similar symptoms, though he has lost contact with him, so he does not know anything further. His most recent blood tests were normal, and on examination, there is no evidence of increased tone or cog-wheeling. He had an MRI which was normal. You suspect that he has an essential tremor.
