A 40-year-old construction worker presents complaining of: 1/7 right eye redness, photophobia, foreign body sensation, pain and watering. He denies any history of trauma or projectile foreign bodies to the eye. He was at a building site 2 days ago but wore goggles whilst working. He has no past medical history of note. Examination shows conjunctival hyperaemia with a staining epithelial defect inferiorly in the cornea. What is the appropriate management in this case?
