A 35-year-old gentleman presents to the GP with left elbow pain and swelling for the past 10 months. He has already been to the GP on multiple occasions, who has organised an X-ray and taken some blood tests. These were unremarkable, and he has been reassured it would get better. He has no family history of note. On examination of the joint, there is general oedema of the left arm with erythema and dryness of the overlying skin. There is hypersensitivity to light touch over the elbow and forearm. He is otherwise fit and well. He works in construction and possibly knocked his elbow at work around 10 weeks ago. Observations are within range.
