A 29-year-old male presents with multiple episodes of syncope.

A 29-year-old male presents with multiple episodes of syncope. He reports that his father and uncle both died of sudden cardiac death. An ECG showed coved ST elevation followed by negative T-wave in leads V1 and V2. Further tests revealed mutations in the SCN5A gene.

Given the likely diagnosis, which phase of the cardiac conduction cycle does this condition affect?
