A 56-year-old female presents to the acute medical unit with weakness

A 56-year-old female presents to the acute medical unit with weakness. She noticed that her weakness occurs predominantly in the evenings, affecting both her hands and legs. This has resulted in her dropping plates and tripping. She has also noted that she develops double vision when reading prior to sleep.

Examination at rest was normal, but there was increased weakness in her arms after repeated movements of the arms. In addition, bilateral ptosis was noted following sustained upgaze.

Given the likely diagnosis, which hypersensitivity reaction is the underlying pathogenesis for this condition?
