A 75-year-old male presents with a new difficulty in understanding speech.

A 75-year-old male presents with a new difficulty in understanding speech. He was unable to respond to his wife appropriately 3 hours after waking. He cannot follow 3-stage commands and was found to produce his own words while speaking. No stuttering or slurring of speech was noted. He struggles to name objects that were shown to him. Neurological examination showed normal power. A CT scan has confirmed an ischaemic infarct as the underlying cause of his condition.

Which of the following areas of the brain has likely been affected by the ischaemic stroke?
