A 56-year-old male with known CML has presented to his GP practice.

A 56-year-old male with known CML has presented to his GP practice. His nephew had been feeling feverish and malaise for the past two days while he was at their home. Upon his nephew’s return home, his sister informed him that his nephew had developed a fever and widespread rash with scattered blisters along his trunk and arms. He denies any ongoing symptoms at present.

He has had chickenpox and has not received any vaccinations for this.

Which advice should be given assuming the varicella antibody result will take two days to return?
