A 45 year old female presents to her GP reporting unintended weight loss over the past 4 weeks.

A 45 year old female presents to her GP reporting unintended weight loss over the past 4 weeks. Her diet and exercise levels remain unchanged however she has noticed frequent palpitations whilst at rest. She feels these may be related to her increased feeling of anxiety which has been worsening recently. Her GP performs a blood test which confirms the patient is suffering from hyperthyroidism. A prescription for Carbimazole is provided.
