A 40 year old male presents to his GP after experiencing several attacks of central chest pain for 2 months. He explains that the pain feels like burning and starts in the centre of his chest but can sometimes spread to his throat. Typically the pain starts 1-2 hours after eating and is much worse after large meals. He has tried heartburn relieving preparations such as Gaviscon but these only help for a short time. The patient denies any vomiting and has had no difficulty in swallowing. He feels that his weight has probably increased over the last few months due to exercising less. He has no other medical conditions and no allergies.

Prescribe one drug that could be given to the patient to improve his symptoms.
