A 65-year-old man presents to the emergency department with severe flank pain which he rates as a 9/10 in severity. He states it started around 2am last night and has not been relieved since. The ED registrar suspects this patient may be suffering from a renal stone and sends him for a non-contrast CT KUB (kidney’s, ureter, and bladder) which confirms the diagnosis.

Please prescribe one drug to manage pain in this patient while his future management is being decided.
