Management

Treatment of pulmonary hypertension in Eisenmenger syndrome is with endothelin antagonists and PDE-V inhibitors. Potential treatments include diuretics, antiarrhythmics and anticoagulation while selected patients may be considered for lung +/- heart transplant for refractory symptoms with one year survival < 50%

Pregnancy with Eisenmenger physiology is considered high risk and is generally contraindicated. For surgical procedures in a patient with Eisenmenger physiology, antibiotic prophylaxis is recommended.
