A 4-year-old boy presents with a sudden onset of a high fever of 39.8°C, which lasted for four days, and then abruptly resolved. Following the resolution of the fever, a pink, flat rash appeared on his trunk and then spread to his arms and neck. The child has been irritable but is otherwise eating and drinking well. He attends preschool and there have been reports of other children with similar symptoms. On examination, the rash is non-itchy, and there are no other significant findings.
