A 65-year-old man is being investigated for dementia. History and collateral history show memory loss that is predominantly affecting recent memories, with preservation of long-term memory. Other cognitive domains are unaffected. There are no hallucinations or parkinsonian features. Blood investigations are normal. A CT head and MRI head have failed to identify the dementia subtype and there is doubt over the diagnosis. Which investigation would be most appropriate to request?
