A GP has called for advice. A 68-year-old woman has presented with isolated haematuria. She had initially presented 2 weeks ago with the same complaint, as well as dysuria, frequency, urgency and a fever, however those complaints subsided after a course of antibiotics. He had obtained a blood sample which demonstrated raised inflammatory markers, and a urine culture had grown E. coli sensitive to Gentamicin, Ciprofloxacin and Nitrofurantoin but resistant to Trimethoprim. She has completed a 7 day course of Ciprofloxacin.
