A 70-year old man attends a general geriatrics appointment following a referral from his GP for a tremor. He reports that the tremor started in his right hand around a year ago and seems to go away when he uses that hand. He also reports that he is struggling to do the shopping now as he is feeling more unsteady on his feet. On examination he has increased tone in his right hand with a resting tremor. He has a stooped posture and a shuffling gait. He is otherwise fit and well and does not have any regular medications. Given the suspected diagnosis, what would be the most appropriate initial treatment for this gentleman?
