You are called to see a 65-year-old female overnight due to discomfort in her legs. She was admitted due to pyelonephritis a few days ago and is due for discharge tomorrow. She reports that she is finding it difficult to sit still and often has to go for a walk before bed. It has been going on for 3-4 months and happens around 3 times a week. Her GP recently started her on a new medication for this, but she’s not had it since admission. In between episodes she reports no difficulties mobilising, and has not noticed a tremor.

Your systems examination and routine observations are normal. Routine blood tests during admission show haemoglobin 95 g/L (low), MCV 78 fl (low), ferritin 19 ng/ml (low).

The dysuria has settled, and she denies any rectal bleeding or change in bowel habit. What is the most appropriate next investigation?
