A 57-year-old man presents to his GP complaining of aching retrosternal pain when eating his dinner. This typically subsides over the next few minutes, but forces him to stop eating, and can sometimes result in him regurgitating some of his food. This has been getting progressively more disruptive over the past 6 months or so. He is otherwise well, with no weight loss, vomiting, nausea, or any other features of note.
