A 30-year-old woman complains of gradually increasing pruritus and fatigue

A 30-year-old woman complains of gradually increasing pruritus and fatigue. She is otherwise well, and does not report any abdominal pain. Her GP sends off some bloods including LFTs which show a significantly raised ALP, and slightly raised ALT, whilst all other results are normal. After some further investigations, she is diagnosed with Primary Biliary Cholangitis (PBC).

Which of the following is true regarding PBC?
