Overview of pneumoconiosis
Pneumoconiosis, or occupational interstitial lung disease, refers to lung inflammation and fibrosis which occurs due to inhalation of mineral and metal dusts, often in the work environment. Due to the occupational nature of many of these diseases, financial compensation may be available for those affected.
Amongst the major types of pneumoconiosis are asbestosis, coal worker’s pneumoconiosis and silicosis.
