A 54-year-old woman presents to the medical take with painful swollen ears for the last week and joint pains to her hands. She tells you she has had a few previous episodes like this; however, they have passed without any intervention. She also has noted some erythema and slight pain to the eye, although no visual loss. On examination, you note erythema and swelling to both ears, sparing the ear lobe, and a depressed nasal bridge. You also note some synovitis to the small joints of the hands in an asymmetric distribution.
