A 20-year-old female attends the cardiology clinic at her local hospital after a recent army medical examination found a loud systolic murmur. In the clinic, she reports that this murmur has been present since she was a child without impacting her development. There is no history of cyanosis, shortness of breath or exertional dyspnoea. 

On examination, he appears well. BP is 128/72mmHg. Her heart rate is 68 bpm and regular, and her lungs appear clear. The only finding is a pansystolic murmur on auscultation of the precordium, heard loudest in the left parasternal region.
