A 36-year-old female presents to her GP with a lump in her left breast. She first noticed the lump 6-months ago and feels that it hasn’t really increased in size during that time. She denies any breast pain, skin changes or nipple discharge. The only past medical history of note is a curative wide local excision for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) of the left breast, performed 8-years earlier. On initial examination, there is a round, firm, painless mass within the periareolar region. Subsequent ultrasound imaging reveals a spiculated mass with calcified walls. What would you expect to see on histological assessment?
