A 35-year-old female attends her GP because she is concerned about a lump on her skin

A 35-year-old female attends her GP because she is concerned about a lump on her skin which you examine using a dermatoscope. She explains that it started off as a small spot, which grew over a few weeks, becoming progressively bigger to the point that it started catching in her bra strap and bleeding slightly. Since then she covered the area with a bandage to protect it.

On examination there is a 1cm by 1cm pinkish red pedunculated mass located over the right scapular region, characterised by a smooth circular appearance with no evident crusting or variation in colour.
