A 40-year old man presents with pain in his left eye

A 40-year old man presents with pain in his left eye. He describes the pain as a dull ache, which began a few days ago. There are no associated visual changes. On examination, visual acuity is 6/6 in both eyes and the affected eye is reddened on the lateral edges of the sclera. The right eye is unaffected.
