An unknown man is brought into A&E resus after being found unconscious on the street
An unknown man is brought into A&E resus after being found unconscious on the street. On quick examination, you see that he has been badly beaten and has bruising down the right side of his face, and all over his abdomen. His left ankle looks deformed. The paramedics mention that there wasn’t a wallet or a phone at the scene, and they do not know the identity of the man. He groans when you try to elicit pain, but does not open his eyes. There is also decerebrate posturing when eliciting a pain response. What is your initial management of this patient?
