A 67-year-old lady visits the GP with her husband
A 67-year-old lady visits the GP with her husband. Her husband tells you that over the last year or so, his wife seems to have had some personality changes. He tells you that she was always very gentle in nature, but recently has had some outbursts of anger which are unusual for her. The patient mentions that she struggles to find the right words to use in a sentence and bursts into tears when she tells you that she is worried that she has Alzheimer’s dementia. She scores 5/10 on the MMSE. She denies any tremor, stiffness, weight loss, anxiety, palpitations, fatigue or yellowing of her skin. Which is the most likely diagnosis?
