A 19-year-old female presents to her general practitioner as she has been feeling generally tired and lethargic and recently noticed a lump on her neck. She is feeling particularly unwell the last few days with pain on swallowing and thinks she may have tonsillitis. On questioning, however, the tiredness has been present a while longer. On examination, her observations are within normal parameters and her throat appears normal. A fixed mass is found on the right anterior cervical triangle. It feels rubbery and hard and is non-mobile.
