A 7-year-old girl is brought in with a chronic complaint of aches and pains all over her body. Until now, her mother explains that she put her complaints down to growing pains and her daughter being spoiled but it is now beginning to concern her. She has attempted to try and relieve the pain with hot water bottles and paracetamol, but it has not helped. Her school has phoned on multiple occasions explaining her reluctance to participate in physical activities and that when she does, she complains of tiredness and pain. Upon taking her developmental history, she began walking at 21 months after bottom-shuffling and eventually caught up with her motor delay. On examination, she is able to bend her back and place her hands flat onto the floor without flexing her knees.
