A 67-year-old lady complains of pain arising from the right side of her tongue

A 67-year-old lady complains of pain arising from the right side of her tongue. She has noticed a growth there for the past 4 months but has not sought medical attention as it has only now become difficult to chew. She used to be a heavy smoker but has stopped since her husband passed away from lung cancer 2 years ago. Since then, she has suffered from a low mood and poor appetite. Clinically, there is wasting of the temporalis muscles, and her body-mass-index (BMI) is 17 kg/m2. Attached is a clinical photograph of her tongue.

Which of the following management options would provide the best mortality and morbidity for her. Select ONE option only.
