A 57-year-old presents to his GP, having made an emergency appointment. He tells you that earlier that day whilst he was watching TV, he noticed that he seemed to completely lose the vision in his left eye. He describes a feeling like “a black curtain was being pulled down over my eye, and then my sight went entirely on that side”. This lasted for around 10 minutes and has now resolved. A CT head is done, with no obvious abnormality.
