An 18-year-old female student has had severe abdominal pain associated with diarrhoea and abdominal bloating

An 18-year-old female student has had severe abdominal pain associated with diarrhoea and abdominal bloating that frequently comes with her menses. The episodes have become progressively worse since she was 15-years-old and she was started on Ibuprofen 600mg six months ago. At this visit, the abdominal pain has reduced, but she still remains symptomatic. Her last menstrual period was last week. Pelvic examination revealed a non-enlarged uterus and no tenderness.
