A 33-year-old lady has just given birth to her third child 5 days ago

A 33-year-old lady has just given birth to her third child 5 days ago via normal vaginal delivery and now presents with a temperature of 38.5 degrees Celsius. Regarding the birth history, the “water broke” 10 hours before the baby was delivered, and the labour itself took almost 8 hours. Given the long delivery, forceps were used to assist delivery. The mother was also found to have a grade 3 perineal tear at the inferior outlet of the vagina that was subsequently sutured up. She complains of blood and pain when passing urine for the past 2 days. Currently, upon examination, she is running a temperature of 38.4 degrees Celsius. There is a tender and palpable suprapubic mass. Her vaginal examination is largely unremarkable, and her perineal tear is seen to be healing well. Her calves are not significantly swollen.
