A 32-year-old lady presents with fever and midline lower abdominal pain

A 32-year-old lady presents with fever and midline lower abdominal pain for the past 2 days. She had just delivered her first newborn via caesarean section 5 days ago. A midwife calculates her MEOWS score as 6 (scoring for HR 135 bpm and BP 86/65 mmHg). Abdominal examination revealed a non-inflamed Pfannenstiel scar but mild tenderness on palpation over the lower abdomen. A pelvic examination found cervical motion tenderness.
