Ebstein Anomaly

This congenital abnormality is characterised by the apical displacement of the tricuspid valve with elongated tricuspid valve leaflets, leading to the atrialisation of the RV and dilation of the true tricuspid annulus. The incidence is approximately 1.2 to 5 in 100,000 live births. Although there is an increased risk in mothers taking lithium during early pregnancy, most cases are sporadic. 

Associated cardiac defects include PFO, ASD, VSD, pulmonary stenosis, and accessory pathways predisposing patients to tachyarrhythmias and left heart defects such as mitral valve prolapse or bicuspid aortic valve.
