Antispasmodics

Buscopan (Hyoscine butylbromide) is available over the counter in the UK. This is an antimuscarinic. It has anti-secretory properties, which can be used for secretions, and antispasmodic properties, which help manage smooth muscle spasm-type pain in the GI tract. This can help with colic, a deep, twisting pain which comes in waves.

Oral bioavailability is poor, but Buscopan can be given subcutaneously, either as required or in a syringe driver.
