Treatment
In most cases, HSP resolves spontaneously; however, the disease can often relapse. In children, the disease usually resolves within a few weeks. Symptom management with NSAIDs can be used for joint pains without kidney involvement. Dapsone may be effective in some cases. Corticosteroids can be used to reduce inflammation, especially in adults. Long-term kidney protection, such as blood pressure control, may be required.
