A 14-month-old girl is brought to her GP by her mother who is concerned that she has stopped growing

A 14-month-old girl is brought to her GP by her mother who is concerned that she has stopped growing. Her mother has also noticed that she has loose bowel motions 2-4 times a day. There is a family history of fluctuations in bowel habits but no formal diagnosis of GI conditions. On examination, she has a swollen abdomen and evidence of buttock wasting. Her weight has dropped from the 50th centile to the 10th centile over the last 6 months. Her GP is suspicious that she may have coeliac disease.
