A 19-year-old student presents to ED feeling lightheaded. His family history is positive for cardiac disease with his father having an MI aged 49. His only medication is Citalopram which was recently started by his GP for depressive symptoms. His observations are RR 14, temperature 37.1 C, HR 79, BP 130/70 mmHg and oxygen saturation 98% on room air. His ECG shows broad complex tachycardia, consistent with Torsades de pointes. You believe that his antidepressant medication may have predisposed him to this arrhythmia due to its tendency to prolong the QT interval. What therapy should be offered in the first instance?
