A 26-year-old male patient presented to the emergency department with complaints of sudden darkening of his vision in the right eye for 1 day. This was preceded by a shower of floaters. He did not have any associated systemic illnesses. There was no history of trauma to the eye. On examination, he had the best-corrected visual acuity of 6/60 in the right eye and 6/6 in the left eye. The eye appeared white and quiet. The fundus of the right eye was hazy with no view of the retinal vessels or optic nerve. The left eye was unremarkable.
