A 28-year-old male from Brazil was seen in the clinic with a fever and swelling in his upper extremities

A 28-year-old male from Brazil was seen in the clinic with a fever and swelling in his upper extremities. This started approximately 18 months before presentation with pale, patchy skin lesions on his upper and lower limbs. These patches were associated with localised loss of sensation and hair loss. Following this, he began to develop asymmetrical thickening along his arms bilaterally that were tender to palpation.

Given the likely diagnosis, which hypersensitivity reaction is the underlying pathogenesis for this condition?
