A 34-year-old woman has a past medical history of prolactinoma and was admitted to the acute medical unit with severe epigastric pain. She was seen by her GP and commenced on omeprazole for her epigastric pain, but this did not settle her pain despite being on 40mg twice daily of omeprazole. She also reports an episode of haematemesis with melaena. A subsequent OGD revealed three duodenal ulcers, and this was managed with thermal coagulation. Reviewing her medical notes, you note that she has had several previous duodenal ulcers needing treatment with endoscopy.
Blood tests performed on admission were as follows:
| Blood test | Value | Normal range |
|---|---|---|
| Corrected calcium | 2.78 | 2.2-2.6 mmol/L |
| PTH | 89 | 10-55 pg/ml |
What is the underlying gene mutation that has resulted in her condition?
