A 45-year-old man is admitted to the Acute Medical Unit from the GP after abnormal routine bloods. He required bloods for monitoring, as he has recently been started on a new AED medication by his epilepsy specialist. The patient complains of a sore throat and a fever of 39.2°C is recorded on admission.
His blood results show:
| Hb | 128 g/L | Male (130-180g/L) |
| WBC | 1.16 x 10⁹/L | (4.0-11.0 x 10⁹/L) |
| Neutrophils | 0.4 x 10⁹/ L | (2.0-7.5 x 10⁹/ L) |
| Platelets | 243 x 10⁹/L | (150-500 x 10⁹/L) |
He was started on IV tazocin and referred to Haematology urgently by the medical team.
Considering the likely underlying diagnosis, which medication is least likely to cause this?
